Re: Maps thread
Sure thats fine, did you invite some more AIN members thomas? you can direct them to this forum. I'll have to find some more maps, they're buried deep in the other thread.

Re: Maps thread
Extending a little further east, this is the range of locations named as part of my history to date. Some of them refer to different time periods, and some will be obsolete in modern times, but this shows where they are.
The named map I'm using as a base is quite old, so I'm not sure exactly how accurate it is in relation to the Uberian nations (eg. invented names Rusynia and Iuhra)

The complete world map as made as a year ago,

Perhaps someone wants to update this, but it has the countries outlines for the new people who might want to join

Extend of the Great Carpathian Empire

Just so people have an idea of our spheres of influence. That map was posted 16 months ago on the SCJU and hasn't been changed since.

You seem to have a lot of land. Even if it was part of your history.

We don't have the land any more, it's the extend of the Carpathian Empire, something that was established when Gaea was first created over a year ago. It was posted to give people an idea of how far the empire extended and help them when it comes to choosing a nation as well as determining its history and cultural influences.

Re: Maps thread
Right.. I wanted to do the same. I'll see if I can whip up something. Though really, the extent of Amagosan rule at the height of its colonial empire was more directed east, I think its only the new northern Asian nation that I did conquer. I'll try to whip up something there.

Re: Maps thread
I think if two of you want a large vast empire in your history, you also have to be considerate to other people's history. You have to work things out between the persons whos occupying the land and you rather than just telling them the history and forcing them to adopt it. I'm not saying you are, but I'm saying be considerate of others too. Maybe they don't even want any of you to occupy their land in their history and you might would have to accept that.

Re: Maps thread
No offence but the Carpathian Empire was established over a year ago. LONG before any of the new nations came on board. That's not my problem, as a founding member of Gaea I think I deserve to have my original input respected and adhered to. The map above have not changed in 16 months and there were no objections when it was established as history.
I haven't at any point told someone they can't have a nation, merely indicated the extend of the empire.
I'm very much looking forward to working with new nations and helping them craft a unique and exciting history, at no point have I stared anything to the contary.

Re: Maps thread
Yes I understand that but coming first does not give you that privilige, you still have to work with other people on histories rather than FORCE it on them irregardless if they like it or not. It shouldn't be your way or the highway. it is their land after all, if they decide to take a extreme isolationism route, they should be able to without any external influence. If you want to force your history on others, whats stopping others people from forcing their histories on others, sorry it just leads on the wrong foot TBH.
So far there has been no problem, but just keep it in mind that other people may not want your history and be considerate to that. There may be people that may want your influence in their nation, and thats fine, but it shouldn't be imposed upon them if they don't want it. Not saying you been doing that, just saying be considerate to the possibility of it.

Re: Maps thread
Technically it's not their land as they didn't design the world map and country borders, they were designed a long time ago and they only have the opportunity to be part of the project because the original founders have allowed for it, so that should be kept in mind also apollo, you seem to be forgetting that.
I'm not forcing anything on anyone, if someone decides they want to be isolationist then I have no issue with that, I have never stated a country that occupies former colonial land HAS to have vestiges of Carpathian influence whether that be cultural, social, political or anything else.
I have posted the map to allow people to see where colonial lands were, that's it! If they want a modern nation utterly devoid of legacy influences then that's their decision. I have NEVER stated anything that contradicts that or states otherwise.
The only time I'll have an issue is if a new nation wants existing land were we have our current modern day dependencies or Siam which is independent.

Re: Maps thread
The only country that I am being forceful about is the nation to the north, since I had already developed a full history with it, and I have been talking to Weecaeks about it.
As for the map, its just the extend of Amagosan power, to which today sees Amagosa down to just its own land (or maybe a dependencies or so). I will be talking to people, and people are free to talk to me. The only thing that has been agreed to is that I did conquer our Japan for a time until the World War, and then they fought me off.

Re: Maps thread
Ok, here is the map of the extent of influence for Amagosa. Keep in mind that unlike Micheal, none of these are current colonies or dependencies of Amagosa. Also, I tried my best to colonize unclaimed areas, though some were unavoidable. Carpathia and I would have had a sort of land race to expand our empire.

Re: Maps thread
I would prefer if you didn't take the south eastern edges of Uberia, as this is where the Maraean Empire expanded to. Here's a quick map of the Maraean Empire in Uberia and Ehrlichia.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22164677/Maraemo/Gaea-Empire.png
We also colonised San Theodoros in the Second Maraean Empire.

Re: Maps thread
This is fine, I can rework it, I didn't know that Maraean had been larger, so I can limit myself to the African continent, or, you can I can discuss a compromise.
As for San Theodoros, that I can relent to, not a problem at all.
Now, the image came out smaller than I would have liked.. I can see if I can make a bigger one, otherwise I'll just post what each of the 4 things say.

Re: Maps thread
I would be willing to discuss it, obviously we don't know about exact timelines and things yet so you could always take over those regions, as long as it wasn't at a time when Maraemo was strong and had control over the region.

Re: Maps thread
@Kevin: Some of the islands that you have listed as part of the former Amagosan empire are now territories of Eterdriana. Perhaps we can work out a storyline where Eterdriana bought the islands from Amagosa? (similar to the US Virgin Islands and Denmark, just in reverse :p). =)

Re: Maps thread
You took my nation Mine!
EDIT: You took my spot above San Theodoros and it wouldn't work. My timeline is very extensive and the country has been around for some time.
